Stay Puft Wallpaper - Sketch
October 8, 2009

I think I've decided on an alternating big post-little post type format. Today is the little post with a preliminary wallpaper design featuring the new Ghostbusters Minimates.
I threw it together pretty quickly to just get a feel for how the Minimates should be layed out. It's a good first start, but needs a lot of work. I'll move the ledge closer to the Ghostbusters and probably swap the two leftmost. I'll probably crop it a bit tighter too.

Anyway, I'll probably be showing these in-progress shots as the 'little-posts' for a couple weeks. As long as I don't find some extra time and complete it all this weekend.

Unfortunately Stay Puft doesn't look angry, just old and tired.
 Pantone Project
October 5, 2009

If it isn't already totally obvious, I like things that glow. From LEDs to bio-luminescent sea-life, if it emits light it is good. I also like things that are transparent. Actually translucent is a better word. If light can pass through it, it is good.

I decided to combine those two fascinations into this Pantone project. There was a set of translucent Kubricks that sold for silly money. I couldn't warrant spending huge funds on a Kubrick item, I decided to spend funds on making a Minimate version. Then I made it glow.

 MMMV Hunt #3 - Part 0
October 1, 2009

There's no substantial update today for two reasons. One, I've been spending my Minimate-time shooting photos for the 2009 version of the MMMV contest hunt. You know that one I've been pimping for the last couple weeks. Here's a photo of my Hunt Buddy, Comrade Boris Tiltawhirl Girlieshorts.
Two, I'm running out of material. Chronologically I'm only a year back, and since then I've only done three or four Minimate projects. Once I've posted those, I'll have to make new material. Heaven forfend. :) Maybe I'll start just posting once a week instead of twice. Or perhaps one major project post per week and one little tease post like this per week. We'll see what happens.
 MMMV Hunt #2 - Part 3
September 28, 2009

For the past week or so, I've been posting my photos for last year's MMMV scavenger hunt contest. Guess what. You get another one today. Lucky you.

They say you're supposed to save the best stuff for the end. That way you can wrap everything up with a satisfying 'capper'. Eh, what do they know? I say go out with a large helping of mediocrity. And with that here are the last images from my contest entry.

The second batch of photos include dangerous animals, radioactive sushi, and a painting of me. Proceed at your own peril.

 MMMV Hunt #2 - Part 1
September 21, 2009

A couple weeks ago I posted about the first Minimate Multiverse photo hunt contest. Unsurprisingly, a year later the second iteration of that contest was launched. I had more time on my hands so I was able to put together a respectable entry.

As long as you can define 'respectable' as 24 out of 29 challenges. That's almost 83%. Too many photos for a single entry, so I'll be splitting it up over a few posts. Here's the first piece.

 Minimate T-Shirts #2
September 17, 2009

In a previous post I created a Minimate mini-poster based on the 'Obey' propaganda imagery. It was just something quick-n-dirty to fill up an empty space.

It turned out to be fairly popular (at least by my standards) so a t-shirt was an obvious next step.

 Minimate T-Shirts
September 10, 2009

All the world's best and worst philosophies have been expressed on t-shirts. Peace and war, hope and despair, toasters and kittens. So why not Minimates?

Well, for starters, DST doesn't make t-shirts. (Apart from the Hunt contest t-shirt, ahem.) It's probably due to some licensing restriction or something. Maybe they wouldn't sell? That doesn't stop me from using a print-on-demand shop to slap my images on a quality garment.
