RGBY Mirror

I wanted to play a bit with Blender's indirect lighting capabilities and this was the result. There was a lot of trial and error to get a decent amount of indirect lighting on the floor but not wash out the details on the Minimates themselves.
In the end this effect is probably better accomplished with colored spot lights.

After getting a bunch of real-life stuff done, I rewarded myself with some Blender time.

 2003 Blanks: Red
February 28, 2012

Concluding the 2003 Blanks series (for now) is "Red".
It's a bit of stretch for this image to fit the theme. But it seems to work if you don't think about it too hard..or if you are a recent recipient of light head trauma.
 2003 Blanks: Yellow
February 20, 2012

The 2003 Blanks series continues with "Yellow".

February 12, 2012

A continuation of the 2003 Blanks with "Blue".
Two more to go, I wonder what I'll call them.

The name comes from the common description of the first batch of two-inch promotional Minimates released in 2003. Coming in four different colors, these were no-frills Minimates without printing apart from the occasional copyright line.

Here's the first image, titled "Green".

When Disney bought Marvel it seemed inevitable that worlds would collide. With the upcoming Tron sequel, Marvel is producing a series of variant covers with various heavies reimagined in a Tron world.

With my love of all glowy things, I decided a Minimate version of Spider-Man was in order.

 Cyclops Wallpapers and Animation
October 12, 2010

Something told me it was time to get back into Minimate rendering, and I'm glad I did. I love working with Blender. Before starting Cyclops here, I had only modeled the basic Minimate. It was time to add a few accoutrements. Thankfully the 'mechanical' shapes were fairly easy to make.

It was the organics that were hard.
